I didn't even hit the link. I saw ULTRAMAN and Will Smith's name together and a small part of the world just died instantly and withered away in seconds.

It makes the knowledge that Yamato is also in line to go through the Hollywood wood chipper a little easier to take. I even enjoyed Wild Wild West, but I think that's the last Will Smith SF I did enjoy.

This seems even more wrong than any other country making a Godzilla film. I just can't imagine this being any good and actually still being Ultraman. I can see a good movie coming out of it, but it can't be true Ultraman. If that makes any sense.

If Smith actually appears in this, his career is OVER.

There have been, what, two or three dozen different versions of Ultraman so far? I don't see how one more would hurt anything.

I like Will Smith, but would you really want such a laid-back "Hayata" (whatever his actual name would be)? Yes, Hayata was easy-going, but he was still the square-jawed hero type (at least in the one version I know, the original).

Will Smith as Ultraman? I think this makes perfect sense. I could easily see him as a valued Scientology Patrol member who, after a fatal collision with a UFO, is resurrected, and gains the ability to merge bodies with the alien pilot, whenever he activat...
